Hole Saw Loaner Program for DoS CAIs
*This is a "LOANER" program not a rental. Your 35 dollar security deposit is returned after you're done using the hole saw and arbor. All that you pay is shipping to get the saw from us to you and back to us when you're finished. It saves you the cost of having to buy a large hole saw for your DoS CAI installation.
By popular demand, DoS has purchased several hole saws and arbors for customer use when installing Defenders of Speed CAI's. This allows you to do a completely DIY installation of our cold air intake without having to purchase a big hole saw (that will probably only see service during the installation of this product).
At checkout, we require a $35 dollar security deposit that will be fully refunded* if the hole saw and arbor are returned, undamaged, to DoS within 30 days of your shipping date**.
Please read these disclaimers and helpful hints BEFORE ORDERING:
1) Wear safety glasses when using the hole saw.
2) Only drill the hole in the bulkhead with the bulkhead panel fully removed from the engine compartment.
3) Drill a pilot hole with a 3/16" or 1/4" drill bit to ease the entry of the hole saw's pilot drill into the bulkhead panel.
4) Keep your drill speed high when drilling the hole and use a light touch when the hole saw first meets the plastic. This will allow the hole saw to do all the work and will reduce chatter when drilling.
5) Use a pair of pliers to remove the remaining plastic plug after drilling the hole in the bulkhead panel. This will greatly reduce the chance of you cutting your hand when removing the plug from the hole saw.
6) Keep in mind that the hole saw is sharp. The hand that is holding the bulkhead panel should stay away from the spinning saw during drilling.
7) Be kind to the tool. Do not drop the hole saw. Do not drill directly into a concrete floor with the hole saw. Instead, drill while holding the bulkhead panel upright on a workbench or drill downward with a thick sheet of wood behind the bulkhead panel. Treating the tool harshly will damage it, resulting in the forfeit of your security deposit.
8) DoS (Defenders of Speed) will not be held liable for any injuries related to use of the hole saw. If you do not feel like you can competently and/or safely use the hole saw, please take the bulkhead panel and hole saw to an automotive professional. Your payment to DoS for the hole saw lending program signifies that you will not hold DoS accountable for any injuries relating to use of the hole saw that you are borrowing.
9) **All hole saws borrowed by US, domestic customers in the 48 contiguous US States are due back to DoS (in our hands) within 30 days of their ship date. Security deposit refunds for any hole saws received after 30 days or for any damaged hole saws are not guaranteed.
9a)**All hole saws borrowed by US customers in Alaska & Hawaii or International Customers are due back to DoS (in our hands) within 40 days of their ship date. Security deposit refunds for any hole saws received after 40 days or for any damaged hole saws are not guaranteed.
10) Carefully (it's sharp!) pack the hole saw well to prevent it from poking or cutting a hole in its packaging during shipping.
11) Return the hole saw to DoS via USPS Priority Mail w/a Delivery Confirmation Slip, FedEx, or UPS. DoS must be able to track the hole saw on its return journey.
(Sorry for the long message, but it's just a heads-up for all potential folks using the loaner tools. It's easy to use this tool and return it damage free as long as you use some common sense. -- Clint + the DoS Team)
